Have you ever experienced Achilles pain?
The kind that stops your running or walking, niggles when you walk up and down the stairs in the morning, stiffens up after you exercise, and just generally leaves you feeling frustrated wondering when it’s finally going to wear off…
If that sounds like you, you’re not alone.
Painful Achilles’ tendons are one of the most common things we treat at Cornwall Physio. And a lot of people get frustrated because they don’t understand WHY their Achilles is sore.
Some people think Achilles pain is just a part of ‘getting old’, or inevitable if they happen to be a runner.
Some people think Achilles pain is one of those things that comes and goes, hoping it’ll magically disappear one day when they wake up… (but it ends up staying longer, and sometimes gets worse).
The sudden onset of Achilles pain can be confusing. Sometimes it happens suddenly, during a round of golf or whilst you’re out running.
Often people with sore Achilles’ come for Physio after they’ve had symptoms for months (or even years!). They’ve usually been doing things unintentionally which have actually worsened the problem and without doing exactly the right things, Achilles pain has a tendency to stick around, sometimes for a really LONG time.
The problem with Achilles pain is it doesn’t usually go away ‘by accident’. It also doesn’t particularly go away with rest. There are lots of common things that people try to help their sore Achilles that don’t actually work and can even prolong the problem.
We’ve put together a free download including our top 5 tips to help recover from Achilles pain in the quickest possible time and avoid the common mistakes which can slow down your recovery.

(and how happy they are now...)
"Lou is very positive and when I arrived over 12 months ago, I could barely walk with a torn Achilles. This was complicated (for me) by a stroke affecting balance. Lou has been supportive throughout which resulted in me running again, which I still find hard to believe. Thank you so very much."
"I would highly recommend Lou to anyone in need of help. Not only did Lou get me back on my feet again but helped to explain why certain things were happening. Plus she’s really friendly! A genuine superstar."
"For the past 3 years I've suffered chronic pain, neurological problems and was unable to exercise, due to an undiagnosed Vitamin B12 deficiency. Louise has been able to get me to the stage where I can now exercise regularly, pain free and has helped me get my life back, which is nothing short of amazing. Although there's still a long way to go with my recovery, having her support and expertise along the way is priceless. Lou, you are the best. Thank you."
