Louise Nicholettos MSc MSc BSc (Hons) MCSP HPC AACP
Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist
Lou has an MSc in Physiotherapy, as well as an MSc in Pain Science from Kings College London. During her career she has been taught by and worked alongside, some of the most highly regarded international experts in the fields of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Pain Science. Prior to qualifying as a Physiotherapist Lou gained a BSc (Hons) Degree in Sport & Exercise Science, and she is an experienced Personal Trainer, Strength & Conditioning coach and fitness enthusiast. In 2012 she wrote an extended literature review of pain mechanisms in Achilles Tendinopathy. Her areas of special interest include running injuries, tendon injuries, back pain and nerve pain.
Lou has worked within the Performance Sport Accreditation scheme at the University of Birmingham, where she provided strength and conditioning, rehabilitation and pre-habilitation to elite sports scholars. Her knowledge and experience within Sports Science and fitness training continue to strongly influence her clinical practice.
Since qualifying as a Physiotherapist Lou has undertaken further qualifications including Acupuncture, Clinical Pilates, Medical exercise therapy, Sports Massage, Manipulations & gait analysis/ natural running coaching. Lou was the first Physiotherapist in the UK to become certified as a barefoot running coach and her unique combination of clinician, gait analyst and technique coach enables her to help injured runners at every stage of diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.
Before relocating to Cornwall in 2009 Lou worked at a large inner-city private clinic in Birmingham where she specialised in the treatment of complex or persistent pain conditions, providing state-of-the-art biopsychosocial rehabiliation programmes.
Lou is an experienced Sports Massage practitioner having worked at national triathlon and running competitions and regularly providing treatments for international level competitors. Lou completed her training at the Olympic Medical Institute alongside some of the countries top Sports Physiotherapists. Her Sports Science background means she is knowledgeable on all aspects of training, sports performance and recovery.
Lou is renowned for her expertise in sports and running injuries and treats athletes from across the South West of England and beyond. In her spare time Lou enjoys distance running and training in the gym. She has particular interest in strength and conditioning, gait analysis and barefoot running.
