Why Movement Analysis At The Run Lab® Is Revolutionising Sports Training In Cornwall.
Our 3D gait analysis and force platform tests are designed to pinpoint the exact causes of any injuries, and to precisely guide your Physio treatments and training programmes. We can tell you any technique changes that are needed and make recommendations tailored to you, your body and your running goals. What separates us versus other Physio clinics is our extensive movement testing facilities, including the most up-to-date and advanced 3D gait analysis which we use in combination with force plate testing. As Physiotheraists, we don’t just understand injuries, we also understand movement.
Cornwall Physio is the regions specialist centre for sports injuries and performance and Lead Physiotherpaist, Lou Nicholettos has been been studying gait and biomechanics for over 15 years. We are passionate about helping you to move better and achieve your goals, regardless of your current level or ability.
Here Is What Our Athletes Are Saying...
Chris Thompson British Olympian & European 10,000m silver medallist
"Since my session with Lou at The Run Lab I have made some impressive gains in my running efficiency, which has left me with less soreness in the days after hard sessions and has allowed me to progress my fitness faster and more efficiently. The technology alongside Lou’s Physiotherapy knowledge, enabled me to see the minor adjustments I needed to make in strength and stability. When trying to make large performance gains, I recommend people start with a strong foundation to allow consistency of training. The Run Lab is a great tool for achieving this and something I would definitely recommend to performance focussed runners."
Ben Abbott, Recreational Runner
"I had been unable to run past 2 miles for the last 10 years because of calf cramping and pain. I tried everything from foam rolling to massage to not running but the pain did not go away. Lou assessed my running and also did lots of tests in her clinic room. We realised I had weak muscles in my feet and calves and a very stiff lower back! I also found out that my running technique was overloading my calf muscles. Lou treated my lower back and corrected my running form and I can run 5 miles without pain. It feels great to be able to run again without calf pain."
Elsey Davis, Elite Runner
"This 3D gait analysis is AWESOME, I highly recommend it for all runners in Cornwall and beyond. I had a session with my brill Physio Lou Nicholettos. I’ve learnt so much about my running and have found subtle ways to work on style that will (fingers crossed), make a massive difference to my injury risk and economy/ performance. Watch this space!"
Steve Mallard, Novice Triathlete
"I'm a lifelong athlete but after I developed osteoarthritis in both knees, I thought my running days were coming to an end. My consultant recommended I talk to Lou. She showed me how just a few small tweaks to my running style, together with a tailored strengthening program, could both reduce my knee pain and decelerate the progress of the OA. In just a few sessions, we've reduced the impact to my knees by more than 50% and I'm running pain free! I'm now looking forward to many more years of competitive running, and I can't recommend Lou highly enough – she works miracles!"
James Cutlan, Club & County Runner
"The Run Lab is an amazing tool to help improve your running performance and pick up on any potential bad habits. Worth the visit! Lou is very professional in her role and has helped me massively with the improvement of my running over the last 6 months. Treated me with my first injury before Chester Marathon last October and has helped me since with various other niggles and pains. 100% confident when I visit Lou that she will point me into the right direction of recovery with some outstanding advice whether it be stretching or strength work. Highly thought of and definitely worth a visit if you’re in need of help."
